Rotherham United have signed Nigerian defender Dominic Iorfa on a short term deal until January 2027.
The move gives the experienced centre back another opportunity to continue his career in English football after leaving Sheffield Wednesday following the 2025/26 season.
Iorfa, 31, spent last season with the Owls and made 34 Championship appearances, scoring once. Sheffield Wednesday were relegated to League One at the end of the campaign.
His performances were enough to convince Rotherham manager Alex Bruce to bring him in after a trial period at the club.
Iorfa will now provide additional experience and competition in Rotherham’s defence as they continue their League Two campaign.
The defender is the son of former Nigeria international striker Dominic Iorfa Sr, who represented the Super Eagles at the 1995 King Fahd Cup.
Unlike his father, the younger Iorfa has built his career primarily as a defender and has spent most of his professional career in the English game.
He began his senior career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before enjoying spells with Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday.
His latest move to Rotherham comes with the club hoping his experience can help strengthen their back line.
Iorfa has been handed the number 27 shirt and will remain with the Millers until January, although the transfer is still subject to ratification by the EFL and Football Association.
The experienced defender will now look to settle quickly and make an impact for Rotherham as he seeks to keep his career moving after his departure from Hillsborough.
