A Wrexham loanee could be handed his first competitive appearance for the Super Eagles when Nigeria begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign later this month.

The player is among the names being closely watched by coach Eric Chelle ahead of the matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau. The games are important for Nigeria, who must finish ahead of their rivals in Group L to secure qualification for the tournament.

The youngster has impressed since moving out on loan and his performances have reportedly caught the attention of the national team coaching crew. A competitive appearance for Nigeria would be a big moment in his career and could also strengthen the Super Eagles squad with fresh options.

Chelle is expected to announce his squad soon, with several players battling for places. Injuries and form have opened the door for a few new faces, and the Wrexham loanee appears to be one of the players who could benefit.

Nigeria will start their AFCON qualifying journey under pressure to make a strong statement. The Super Eagles are favourites in the group, but recent qualification campaigns have shown that dropped points can quickly create problems.

A good start against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau would put Nigeria in a strong position, while also giving Chelle a chance to test some of the younger players pushing for regular places in the team.

The coming weeks could be career-changing. If selected and given minutes on the pitch, he would take another major step in his international journey and move closer to becoming a regular member of the Super Eagles setup.
