Chelsea’s long standing interest in Victor Osimhen has reportedly resurfaced, but any move for the Nigerian striker could require an enormous financial commitment after Galatasaray placed a staggering €150 million valuation on their prized forward.

Fresh reports from Turkey claim the Premier League giants have opened contacts over a possible summer deal as they continue their search for a proven goalscorer ahead of the new season. However, Galatasaray are understood to be unwilling to entertain offers below their asking price for the Super Eagles striker.

Osimhen’s future has once again become a major talking point following recent comments from Nigeria coach Eric Chelle, who explained the striker’s absence from the Super Eagles squad for upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal. Chelle suggested a possible transfer situation influenced the decision to leave the 27 year old out of camp.

The Nigerian forward quickly moved to calm speculation, insisting his coach’s remarks had been misunderstood and urging supporters to ignore rumours surrounding his immediate future.

Despite that clarification, Europe’s transfer market continues to keep a close eye on Osimhen. Chelsea are among several clubs linked with the prolific striker, whose performances in Turkey have only strengthened his reputation as one of the most feared centre forwards in world football.

Galatasaray’s reported €150m stance underlines just how highly the Turkish champions value the former African Footballer of the Year. The club sees Osimhen as a central figure in its long term project and appears determined to resist interest unless a truly extraordinary offer arrives.

Osimhen has enjoyed another productive spell in Istanbul, delivering goals consistently while helping Galatasaray remain competitive domestically and in Europe. His form has ensured his name remains firmly on the radar of elite clubs searching for a reliable attacking leader.

For Chelsea, the challenge may not be convincing the player, but navigating one of the biggest potential asking prices of the transfer window.
