Tolu Arokodare Nominated For Ajax Goal Of The Month After Sion Strike

Tolu Arokodare has been shortlisted for Ajax’s Goal of the Month award for August, with the Nigerian striker’s finish against Sion earning him a place among ten contenders selected by the Dutch club.

The Nigerian striker, found the back of the net five minutes  after the restart  to complete  his brace.

The goal that earned him recognition came in the UEFA Conference League qualifier against Sion at the Johan Cruijff ArenA, where he rose to head home a low finish from close range to complete his brace and help seal a dramatic comeback win for Ajax.

Additionally,  fans can now vote for the winner, with Arokodare’s effort up against strikes from Pharrell Nash, Anton Gaaei, Abdellah Ouazane, Julian Brandt, Davy Klaassen, Oliver Edvardsen, Emre Ünüvar, Diego Pugno and Isa Benyahia.

Presently, his form in the Netherlands has reignited talk of a recall to the Super Eagles fold.
