Femi Azeez looks set to finally pull on a Brighton & Hove Albion shirt this weekend, with head coach Fabian Hurzeler confirming the Nigerian winger is closing in on full fitness ahead of Sunday’s Premier League trip to Coventry City.

The  former Millwall player joined Brighton
on transfer deadline day, but a minor hamstring problem held him down and  he had to wait to get going at his new club.

However, the wait is over.  Hurzeler told reporters the 25-year-old trained with the group on Thursday and could be handed his first involvement at the CBS Arena, provided he comes through the session without any reaction.

Also regarding him, I hope he will be an option ,Hurzeler said

He will definitely train today with the squad and hopefully everything is fine, and then he hopefully is an option for the weekend

While he was at Millwall,  Azeez  scored 11 goals and set up seven more across all competitions as the Lions reached the Championship play-off semi-finals.

His incredible  performance  earned him  a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Season and, ultimately, a four-year deal at the Amex Stadium.

Azeez incredible  performance also marked his international debut with two goals in
Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-final in May.

Should Azeez  feature in the Coventry  match, he would play against his fellow Nigerians: Taiwo  Awoniyi and Frank  Onyeka who play currently for the club.
