Nigeria-eligible defender Daniel Oyegoke delivered a standout performance as Hellas Verona stunned Bologna 2–1 away from home in Serie A.
The match saw Verona come from behind to secure an important victory, with Nigerian striker Gift Orban also playing a key role in the decisive moment of the game.

Bologna initially took control of the contest and looked on course for victory, but Verona responded strongly in the second half. Orban, who had just returned from suspension after missing three league games, made an immediate impact by setting up Verona’s second goal to complete the comeback.
Oyegoke, who has previously received a Super Eagles invitation, was one of the most impressive players on the pitch. The young defender showed composure and discipline throughout the match, helping Verona withstand Bologna’s attacking pressure and secure only their third league win of the season.

The result provided a much-needed boost for Hellas Verona as they continue their battle to climb away from the lower end of the Serie A table.
The performance of both Oyegoke and Orban will be encouraging as the pair continue to build their reputation in one of Europe’s top leagues.
