Christantus Uche will head back to Getafe CF this summer after his loan spell at Crystal Palace failed to turn into a permanent move.
According to report, Getafe’s sporting director, Toni Muñoz, confirmed the situation, making it clear that the agreed performance clauses were not met. The deal included conditions tied to appearances, but Uche did not reach the required number to trigger a full transfer.
“It is taken for granted because Uche did not meet the required target of appearances, and it is clear that he is returning,” Muñoz said, as quoted by DAZN.
“The summer is going to be very long.”
Uche’s time in England never really got going. The midfielder made 14 Premier League appearances for Palace but struggled to nail down a regular spot in the team. He ended the campaign without a goal or assist, reflecting a season where chances came in bits rather than a consistent run.
He also featured three times in the UEFA Europa Conference League, but again, his impact was limited as Palace rotated their squad across competitions.
