Spanish club Sevilla are reportedly weighing up a surprise summer sale of Nigerian striker Akor Adams as the Super Eagles forward continues to attract growing interest following an impressive campaign in La Liga.

Adams only arrived at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán from French side Montpellier in January 2025, but his rapid development has already turned him into one of the club’s most valuable assets. Reports from Spain suggest Sevilla could consider offers for the Nigerian as they look to ease financial pressures and generate funds ahead of the new season.

The 26-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season in Spain, establishing himself as an important figure in Sevilla’s attack while also strengthening his position within the Nigerian national team setup. His performances have reportedly attracted attention from clubs in England and elsewhere across Europe, with Premier League sides said to be monitoring his situation closely.

Sevilla’s financial situation has been a recurring topic in recent seasons, and the club may be forced to make difficult decisions regarding several first-team players before the end of June. Adams is believed to be among the names under consideration due to his rising market value and the potential profit Sevilla could make from a sale.

The former Sogndal, Lillestrøm and Montpellier striker has seen his reputation grow significantly since moving to Spain. His goals, physical presence and ability to lead the line have made him a key player for Sevilla while also earning him regular involvement with the Super Eagles under head coach Eric Chelle.

Adams’ current market value has risen sharply over the past year, reflecting both his club performances and increasing influence at international level. The Nigerian forward remains under contract at Sevilla until 2029, meaning the Spanish side would be in a strong negotiating position should formal offers arrive during the transfer window.

Despite speculation surrounding his future, Adams has remained focused on his football and recently indicated that any decision regarding a possible transfer would depend on the opportunities presented and what is best for his career progression.

For now, Sevilla face a balancing act between retaining one of their most productive attackers and capitalising on a transfer market opportunity that could help improve the club’s finances. With interest expected to intensify in the coming weeks, the future of the Super Eagles striker is shaping up to be one of the stories to watch this summer.

Whether he remains in Andalusia or secures a move to a bigger stage, Adams has already proven that he belongs among Nigeria’s most exciting attacking talents currently playing in Europe.
