The latest Nigeria national football team squad for the March international window has sparked plenty of reactions, with a mix of expected stars and a few talking points across all departments.

In goal, the trio of Maduka Okoye, Adebayo Adeleye and Francis Uzoho get the nod, continuing the competition for the number one spot.

The defence features familiar names like Calvin Bassey and Zaidu Sanusi, alongside Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Bright Osayi-Samuel, while Bruno Onyemaechi, Igoh Ogbu and Emmanuel Fernandez also make the list.

In midfield, Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi and Frank Onyeka headline the selections, with Raphael Onyedika and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru completing the options.

Up front, the attacking lineup includes Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon, with Paul Onuachu, Akor Adams, Philip Otele and Collins Sichenje also listed.

However, the squad has raised eyebrows with some notable omissions and positional debates, especially in attack where fans expected more established names.

There are also questions around club details listed for certain players, which appear inconsistent with their current teams, adding to the confusion surrounding the release.

With crucial matches ahead, all eyes will now be on how the team gels and whether these selections deliver results on the pitch.
