The Super Eagles will take on the Egypt national football team in a high-profile international friendly on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Cairo International Stadium.

The match has been arranged by the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) at the request of Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan, who wants to test his squad against one of Africa’s top teams ahead of the continental tournament.

For the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the fixture will come at a crucial moment as the team will be preparing for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco and will use the game as a key part of their build-up.

The Super Eagles will open their camp on December 10 in anticipation of the tournament, giving coach Eric Sekou Chelle the opportunity to fine-tune tactics and assess his squad in competitive conditions.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group C at AFCON alongside Uganda national football team, Tunisia national football team and Tanzania national football team, while Egypt will compete in Group B.
