Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reportedly encouraged his international teammate, Ademola Lookman, to consider a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray ahead of the 2026 summer transfer window.

Lookman only joined Atlético Madrid from Atalanta during the winter transfer window after attracting interest from several leading clubs across Europe. Despite making the switch just months ago, speculation over his long-term future has already begun to emerge.

The Nigerian winger has settled quickly into life in La Liga, delivering impressive performances for Diego Simeone’s side. Since arriving at the Wanda Metropolitano, Lookman has registered nine goals and four assists in 24 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as one of Atlético’s most influential attacking players.

However, reports from Turkey suggest Galatasaray are monitoring his situation closely as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

A move to Istanbul would see Lookman reunite with fellow Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen, who has become a fan favourite at the Turkish club following his outstanding displays in front of goal.

According to Turkish outlet Fotomaç, Osimhen has personally reached out to Lookman and attempted to convince him to join Galatasaray. The report claims the striker highlighted the strong bond within the squad and the welcoming atmosphere at the club.

In comments relayed by Habersarikirmizi, Osimhen reportedly told his compatriot: “We are waiting for you at Galatasaray. Come and be a part of this family.”

Should the transfer materialise, Galatasaray would add another proven attacking threat to their ranks as they prepare for domestic and European challenges next season.

Lookman could also emerge as a long-term solution should Argentine striker Mauro Icardi depart the club this summer. The former Inter Milan forward has been linked with a move away from Istanbul, leaving Galatasaray eager to reinforce their attacking department.

While no formal negotiations have been confirmed, Osimhen’s reported intervention is likely to fuel further speculation regarding Lookman’s future as the transfer window approaches.
