Kwara United head coach Suleiman Ashifat has sounded a clear warning ahead of the decisive final weeks of the Nigeria Premier Football League season, insisting his side will not ease off despite sitting outside immediate danger.

With just three matches left in the 2025–26 campaign, Ashifat described the closing stretch as the toughest phase yet, stressing that every point remains crucial in a tightly contested league table. Nigeria Premier Football League

Kwara United head into their Matchday 36 clash against Niger Tornadoes placed 12th with 45 points, but the coach made it clear that their position offers no guarantees.

Drawing from his experience as a former NPFL player, Ashifat noted that the final rounds of the season often bring heightened pressure, with both the title race and relegation battle still wide open.

“The last games are always difficult,” he said, pointing out that as many as five or six teams remain in contention for the title, while those in the lower half are separated by slim margins.

That reality, according to the Kwara United boss, means there is no room for complacency — even for teams that appear relatively safe.

He stressed that his players must maintain full focus and fight for every available point to avoid late drama, warning that any slip at this stage could have serious consequences.

Kwara United’s run-in underlines the scale of the challenge. After facing Niger Tornadoes away, the Harmony Boys will host Enyimba before ending their season on the road against Bayelsa United — a sequence that could yet define their final standing.

Ashifat’s message is simple: survival may look within reach, but nothing is secured until the final whistle of the season.

In a campaign where consistency has been hard to find and the margins remain razor-thin, Kwara United are determined to finish strong rather than fade away when it matters most.
