Rivers United maintained their position at the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League table after defeating Bendel Insurance 3–1 in Port Harcourt.

After a goalless first half, Rivers United broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Chijioke Mbaoma headed home a corner delivered by Iyowuna Douglas. The hosts doubled their lead in the 81st minute when Douglas again provided the assist, this time setting up Wisdom Samuel to score.

Bendel Insurance reduced the deficit in the 89th minute, but Rivers United quickly restored their two-goal cushion when Samson Obi scored moments later to secure the victory.

The win ensured Rivers United remained firmly at the summit of the NPFL standings.

In Enugu, Rangers produced one of the standout performances of the round with a dominant victory over Remo Stars.

Kenneth Igboke opened the scoring in the fourth minute and Chidozie Iwundu doubled Rangers’ advantage just four minutes later. Remo Stars pulled one back through Franck Mawuena before halftime, but Rangers regained full control in the second half.

Wisdom Ebirim made it 3–1 in the 62nd minute before Igboke grabbed his second goal in stoppage time to complete a convincing 4–1 win.

The heavy defeat left Remo Stars struggling near the bottom of the table, while Rangers strengthened their push toward the top positions as the NPFL season continues to intensify.
