Eric Sekou Chelle has been appointed head coach of the Super Eagles B team ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), replacing Daniel Ogunmodede just weeks before the tournament starts in August 2025, which will be hosted in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Chelle, who is also in charge of Nigeria’s senior national team, has named a 35-man provisional squad that has already commenced training camp at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ogun State.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside defending champions Senegal, Sudan, and Congo. The first two matches will be played at Amman Stadium on Zanzibar Island, and the final group game will take place at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The squad includes:

Goalkeepers: Henry Ani, Kayode Bankole, Nurudeen Badmus, Lawal Mustapha, Ebenezer Harcourt

Defenders: Sodiq Ismaila, Waliu Ojewole, Bankole Afeez, Taiwo Abdulrafiu, Uzondu Harrison, Junior Nduka (captain), Mohammed Kabiru, Ngengen Leonard, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Stephen Manyo Egbe

Midfielders: Adebayo Olamilekan, Adejoh Ojonugwa, Saviour Isaac, Musa Zayyad, Haddi Haruna, Otaniyi Taofik, Papa Daniel Mustapha, Adam Aminu, Michael Tochukwu

Forwards: Anas Yusuf, Adamu Abubakar, Shola Adelani, Sikiru Alimi, Temitope Vincent, Ijoma Anthony, Atule Joseph, Ayomide Cole, Sunday Megwo, Aniekeme Okon, Godwin Obaje

The team officially began camp on July 7 in Ikenne-Remo, where preparations will continue before their departure to East Africa for the tournament.
