Eric Chelle

Nigeria’s CHAN team head coach, Eric Sekou Chelle, has officially named his final 23-man squad for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), as the home-based Super Eagles gear up for the continental showdown set to kick off from August 2 to 30 in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

After weeks of intensive training at the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne, Ogun State, Chelle has trimmed down his provisional squad, selecting a mix of experienced NPFL stars and promising talents to represent Nigeria on the CHAN stage. The tournament, exclusively for players plying their trade in domestic leagues, will see Nigeria aiming to better their past records of a bronze medal in 2014 and silver in 2018.

The team departed Nigeria for Zanzibar on Thursday, July 25, where they will undergo a final preparation camp. While in Zanzibar, they are scheduled to play two friendly matches against the host nation on July 28 and 31, giving Chelle a final chance to test his tactical setups before the competition begins.

Nigeria has been drawn in Group D alongside Senegal, Congo, and Sudan. They will play their first two group matches on Zanzibar Island before traveling to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, for their final group game.

Final 23-Man Nigeria CHAN Squad:
