Former Super Eagles midfield general Sunday Oliseh has described Nigeria’s forward line, featuring Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams and Ademola Lookman, as a “joy to watch,” especially when facing European-style defences.

Oliseh made the comments during a live analysis session on Global Football Insights With Oliseh, where he broke down the trio’s impact for the Super Eagles.

Oliseh said Nigeria’s attackers have shown a blend of physicality, technical skill and intelligence in recent matches.

“I enjoy watching them,” Oliseh explained. “There is a lot of pace, a lot of power and a lot of understanding between them.”

Pressing the point further, he highlighted how their style causes problems for well organised defences, especially those found in European football.

“They have dismantled Euro-style defences on several occasions now. They combine direct running with quick link-up play and that creates chaos for centre-backs.”

Oliseh also singled out each player’s strengths in the attack.

On Osimhen, he said his combination of strength and finishing ability means defenders often have no answer for him.

“Osimhen’s physical presence is something defenders must respect. He wins duels and then finishes with quality when the chance comes.”

On Adams, Oliseh noted the Sevilla striker’s movement and ability to find pockets of space.

Akor Adams Celebrating a goal for the Super Eagles

“Akor Adams has really grown in terms of awareness. He reads the game well and his runs create opportunities.”

And on Lookman, he said creativity and unpredictability give Nigeria an extra edge from wide areas.

“Lookman’s trickery and balance make him hard to deal with. He gives defenders problems when he runs at them.”

Oliseh believes that when all three are switched on together, the Super Eagles’ attacking threat becomes one of the most feared in African football.

“When they click, you see a team that can break down any defence, not just here but anywhere.”

Nigeria’s next international fixtures present another opportunity for the trio to continue showcasing their attacking strengths, and Oliseh thinks the current crop of forwards could lead the Super Eagles to significant success in future tournaments.
