Fulham manager Marco Silva has confirmed that Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi will miss Saturday’s Premier League clash against AFC Bournemouth after failing to recover fully from a hamstring injury.
Iwobi has been sidelined since picking up the injury during Fulham’s league encounter against Brentford, and the setback has already forced him to miss several important fixtures in the club’s push for European qualification.
Speaking ahead of the meeting at Craven Cottage, Silva revealed that the Super Eagles star is still unavailable alongside Ryan Sessegnon, while midfielder Sander Berge remains a late fitness concern.

Iwobi’s absence is another major concern for Fulham at a crucial stage of the campaign. The Nigerian international has been one of the club’s most influential players this season, contributing goals, creativity, and attacking balance from midfield. His energy and ability to progress play have been badly missed in recent weeks.
Fulham head into the Bournemouth fixture still chasing a possible European place, but Silva’s side face a difficult challenge against one of the Premier League’s form teams. Bournemouth currently sit above Fulham in the table and remain firmly in contention for European qualification themselves.
While Iwobi remains unavailable, fellow Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey is expected to keep his place in Fulham’s backline as the London club attempt to close the gap on the teams above them.
Iwobi has remained an important figure for both club and country this season despite his recent injury setback. The former Arsenal and Everton midfielder has continued to play a key role for Fulham since arriving at Craven Cottage in 2023.
