Victor Osimhen is already looking beyond a cautious return, with the Super Eagles striker reportedly demanding to start immediately as he closes in on his comeback for Galatasaray.

The Nigerian forward, who has been sidelined with injury in recent weeks, has made it clear to the coaching crew that he wants to be in the starting XI for the upcoming Turkish Super Lig clash against Gençlerbirliği.

Osimhen’s stance highlights both his hunger and importance to the team at a crucial stage of the season. Galatasaray have struggled for consistency in his absence, dropping points and losing attacking sharpness without their leading striker.

The 27-year-old had been recovering from a serious injury sustained in March, which required surgery and kept him out of action longer than initially expected. Despite that, he has stepped up his recovery in recent days and is now back in contention for selection.

While the club’s medical team and coaching staff are believed to prefer a gradual reintegration, possibly from the bench, Osimhen appears unwilling to ease his way back.

Instead, the former Napoli striker is pushing to lead the line from the first whistle, a move that underlines his confidence and desire to make an instant impact in the title race.

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk now faces a delicate decision: balance the player’s eagerness with the medical realities of his recovery.

With key fixtures on the horizon, including high-stakes domestic clashes, rushing Osimhen back could carry risks. But leaving him out of the starting lineup might also limit the team’s attacking threat at a decisive moment in the campaign.

Osimhen’s return could prove pivotal. The striker has been one of Galatasaray’s standout performers this season, delivering goals and leadership in equal measure.

Now, all eyes are on whether he gets his wish — and whether his bold demand will pay off on the pitch.
