Premier League side Bournemouth will make another move to sign Nigeria international midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru from Lazio in the summer transfer window.

The Cherries pushed hard to sign the 25-year-old in January, but Lazio refused to let him leave after already releasing two midfielders in the same window. The Italian club held onto the Nigerian, who was representing his country at the 2025 AFCON where Nigeria finished third.

A summer transfer is now back on the cards, but Bournemouth won’t have a free run at Dele-Bashiru. Leeds United are also monitoring his situation in Italy, setting up potential competition for his signature.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru in Action for Lazio

The midfielder is interested in returning to England, where he started his career with Manchester City’s youth team before moving abroad. Lazio value him at around €25 million following his permanent transfer from Turkish side Hatayspor last summer after a successful loan spell.

Dele-Bashiru impressed during Nigeria’s AFCON campaign in Morocco, featuring in the Super Eagles’ run to third place. His performances for both club and country have attracted attention from English clubs eager to add his creativity and energy to their midfield options.

Bournemouth have been active in the transfer market, signing Brazilian winger Rayan from Vasco da Gama for €28.5 million in January and defender Alex Jimenez from Milan for €18.5 million in February. The club are looking to strengthen further ahead of next season.
