Athletes and officials from the various sports have now assembled at the team’s training base, allowing final preparations to begin as Nigeria targets a strong performance at the Games. The camp is expected to help athletes fine tune their fitness, improve team coordination and adapt to local conditions before competition gets underway.

The arrival of the remaining athletes marks an important milestone for Team Nigeria, with coaches now able to work with complete squads across different disciplines. Training sessions have intensified as competitors enter the final phase of their preparations.

Officials expressed confidence in the team’s readiness, highlighting the positive atmosphere in camp and the determination among athletes to deliver impressive performances on the international stage. Nigeria will be represented in several sporting events, with hopes of improving on previous Commonwealth Games outings.

The National Sports Commission has also reaffirmed its commitment to providing the necessary support to ensure the athletes are fully prepared for the competition. Team officials believe the early arrival and full participation in camp will play a key role in helping competitors settle into the environment and perform at their best when the Games begin.

Nigeria heads into the 2026 Commonwealth Games with high expectations, particularly in sports such as athletics, wrestling, weightlifting, boxing and para-sports, where the country has traditionally enjoyed success.

With the entire delegation now in camp, attention shifts to the opening of the Games as Team Nigeria aims to challenge for medals and make the country proud on one of the biggest stages in international sport.
