Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has opened up on the one player who left the biggest impression on him during his rise to the top of European football, and it is a familiar name from his unforgettable spell at SSC Napoli.

Now starring for Galatasaray, the Nigerian forward has enjoyed a remarkable journey across Europe, evolving into one of the most feared strikers in world football.

Speaking in a recent interview, Osimhen did not hesitate when asked about the best teammate he has ever played with. The 27-year-old pointed to Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, his former Napoli partner, describing him as a special talent with a unique footballing intelligence.

Nigeria and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen and Kvaratskhelia formed one of Europe’s most dangerous attacking duos during their time in Italy, playing a key role in Napoli’s historic Serie A triumph. Their chemistry on the pitch quickly became one of the defining features of the club’s success, with both players complementing each other’s strengths in devastating fashion.

Reflecting on that partnership, Osimhen praised the winger’s quality and personality, making it clear that beyond the goals and assists, it was Kvaratskhelia’s overall impact that stood out.

The Nigerian striker’s comments come at a time when he is continuing to shine in Turkey following his big-money move, having already delivered an impressive goal return since joining Galatasaray.  His performances have kept him firmly in the spotlight, with Europe’s elite clubs still monitoring his situation closely.

With Galatasaray closing in on another league title, Osimhen’s focus remains on finishing the season strongly. However, his reflections on his Napoli days serve as a reminder of the partnerships that helped shape his career into what it is today.

Even among the many stars he has shared the pitch with across Germany, France, Italy, and Turkey, Osimhen’s choice says everything. For him, Kvaratskhelia stands above the rest.
